New Arrival!

Call me impatient but I have been willing for the birth of another cria so that Elmer who was born 3 1/2 weeks ago had someone his age to play with.  Erica is now several months old and quite a lot larger than him and it is always nice to watch the cria play together.

I had been on a trip to Incaland today to celebrate my mums **th (cough, splutter) birthday with a surprise party.  Having had a lovely time and enjoying the spread laid on by Tracey and Tim I dashed back to check on the animals.  I was very excited to arrive back to find Clover had given birth to a little boy, presumably just after I had left since he was pretty dry.  Both are doing really well and she has taken to motherhood brilliantly.  I didn't have to wait long to see him drinking, which is always the most tense part of the whole process for me!

Headshots and Nail Cutting

Headshots week 3
It was also time to cut their nails, which were getting pretty long.  As seen below, it was a very stressful process!!!  Unfortunately not all the pups were snapped but here are a selection.

Puppy update

The pups are doing fine.  It won't be long until their eyes are fully open.  It may be more easy to see if they stop sleeping once in a while though!

Over 1 week gone already!

Well it's over a week since the pups were born now and they are doing well.  Below are their one week old headshots.

As you can see it's a tough life being a puppy.
It's a hard life!

Update

Firstly, the pups are doing very well.  All putting on a lot of weight and seemingly very healthy!!!

The pups, day 6
Herby and his mum Apple decided they were going to accompany me up the garden uninvited when I went to clean out the ducks so he got shut in the stable so as not to get in the way.  I think he would rather be the other side of the door!
Herby
April and Daisy enjoyed the sunshine when they came with me to sit with the alpacas at lunchtime.

But couldn't sit still all the time...
Full of it!
The alpacas all seem well as well.  The boys ran to see me when they were called, as usual.
The boys are full of it too!
Erica is looking ever lovely.

and Elmer seems to be doing well

Elmer and his mum Moselle
We are waiting for the next cria now, Cinnie is due next although will no doubt wait until some of the other, more experienced mums!  Hopefully, judging by this, she should be an attentive mum.

This slideshow below shows photos of the puppies, which will be added to over time.

All is well

All is well here.  I have been out this morning to take some photos of our new cria, Elmer.  At the same time I also took some of Daisy and April.  Photos of the new puppies to follow.

All Action at Amiryck

We have had a busy week this week - in particular today...

Today has seen the arrival of Cally's puppies, all nine of them - five bitches and four dogs. Mum and babies are doing well, as can be seen below.

As if that was not enough excitement for one day, Moselle decided to have her cria a few days early. A beautiful dark brown/black boy. He is also doing well.

Moselle is being a fabulous first time mum and as you can see is relaxed with the Elma meeting other members of the family (watched closely of course by us).

Herby did us proud on Tuesday at Paignton Championship Dog Show and won Reserve Best Dog - not bad at 15 months old.

And lastly a picture of the ducklings who are growing VERY fast.
