Hectic

We have had a busy few days here so time for a catch up...

Thursday saw the birth of Monique's cria whilst I was at work.  He is a very, big stocky, fawn boy.  His mum is so protective Richard couldn't get near him to spray his umbilical cord so I had to do it when I got home (and came back in smothered in spit!)

Ferula with his big sister Moselle
The following day Monique's daughter Dahlia decided to produce her cria in double quick time.  She must have coughed him out in less than 10 minutes flat!  Thankfully he was up and walking in about the next 15 minutes and drinking shortly after that.  What a relief when we were going away that that didn't need monitoring!

The rest of the cria appear to be doing well, here are a couple.

Fern and Foxglove
After Frosty was born on Friday we headed off to the HWVA working test.  I had my camera in tow but was unfortunately not able to use it during the test since I was stewarding all day.  However, there are a couple of pictures below from before the test.

We have now seen four of the kittens go off to their new homes.  We wish their owners every happiness with their new family members.  We were thrilled that they went off in pairs...

Alpacas, dogs and cats all look gorgeous and well. It's nice for Bella to continue to have a feline companion - I'm sure Richard agrees!
