Last cria

Today saw the arrival of our last cria of this year. Unfortunately a blue eyed white was not quite what we were hoping for but he seems to be doing OK so far so we will have to see how he progresses.

(yes the huge cria on the right is Dahlia - only 2 1/2 weeks old)

Another lovely set of photos.

The new cria looks very cute - here's hoping things turn out okay for him.

I have to say, although you are disappointed, he looks very nice. Maybe he will make a nice fibre boy for someone as he is sure to have a nice fleece. We have one with blue crescents in his eyes, out of Kara + RA Wiracocha of Wessex.

I am not worried about him being ANOTHER wether for us!! just the fact that these blue eyed whites often have hearing and other problems. Having said that he seems to be doing very well so we are keeping our fingers crossed he will thrive.

Sorry Karen, I didn't mean to imply that you were only bothered about his breeding potential! I understand what you mean about hoping he is ok health wise etc. I'd be the same!

Didn't take any offence at all!! Obviously ultimately everyone would like the best possible alpacas they can get but if they can live healthy, happy lives that is the main thing. Hope to be able to post photos of him in our garden soon - he follows me down to the kitchen door then back to the paddock again - very sweet.
